RADIATION
TerjeRadiation — radiation zones, protective gear, decontamination and dosimeters.
4Dosimeter Types
7Medications
2Decon Showers
10 mMax. Dosimeter Range
Radiation does not deal immediate damage — it builds up slowly and persists permanently until actively removed!
What Happens in Radiation Zones?
- You and your equipment accumulate radiation
- Vehicles, items, zombies and animals can also become contaminated
- The closer to the center, the higher the exposure
- Radiation stays in the body until it is actively removed
RadiationValue – Radiation Buildup
The RadiationValue increases due to the following factors:
- Time spent in the zone
- Proximity to the center
- Missing or poor protection
Equipment & Protection
| Equipment | Protection |
|---|---|
| Gas Mask | Protection against airborne contamination |
| Protective Suit | High protection against gamma radiation |
| Normal Clothing | Very little protection |
| Helmet, Gloves, Shoes, Backpack | Also relevant — all slots count |
Clothing can also become contaminated — contaminated items continue to irradiate!
Radiation Sickness – Symptoms
The higher the RadiationValue, the worse the symptoms:
- Health loss over time
- Blurred vision
- Reduced stamina
- Trembling
- Blood loss
- Weakened immune system
Contaminated Items & Vehicles
- Items in the inventory of contaminated players absorb radiation
- Vehicles can transfer radiation to occupants
- Backpacks can be highly irradiated
Countermeasures: Decontamination liquid, decontamination shower or lead container
Decontamination – Methods
| # | Method | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Decontamination Shower (Green Mountain & Krasno) | Cleans player, clothing & items over time |
| 2 | Liquid Radiation Cleaner (item) | Clean individual items |
| 3 | Medication (see below) | Reduce internal radiation |
| 4 | Lead Container | Protect items from further radiation |
Medication Against Radiation
The following medications combat radiation sickness from within:
- B190
- Potassium Iodide
- Hexacyanoferrate
- Mexamine
- Pentacin
- Carboxyme
- Radioprotector
Dosimeters – Measuring Devices
| Device | Range | Unit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pripyat | 3 m | µSv/h | Very accurate |
| MKC-01A | 5 m | mR/h | All-rounder |
| CDV 700 | 10 m | mR/h | Largest range |
| DBG-05 | 1.5 m | mR/h | Compact & precise |
Tip: Books in-game improve your radiation resistance, medical knowledge and survival chances in hot zones.
